During a Septic Dye Trace Test, fluorescent dye is forced through the plumbing system of the home, and a load of water is flushed through the system. If there is any blockage in the septic system that would cause backup in the home or drainage field, it will become visible with the dye. This is an excellent indicator of septic system problems!
